Apple Banana Chia Seed Smoothie
Apple Banana Chia Seed Smoothies – these delicious and refreshing smoothies are perfect for a healthy breakfast or snack anytime. I love chia seeds, they are a super food, full of omega-3 fatty acids, protein, antioxidants, and fiber. Chia seeds are so versatile. One of my favorite ways to use them is in smoothies.
I love using frozen bananas in smoothies, such as this, as then you don’t need to add ice, which can melt and water down the smoothies. Chia seeds are also natural thickeners. They expand when they absorb liquid. So, if you can’t enjoy the whole batch immediately, these smoothies keep quite nicely in the refrigerator.
This recipe makes two smoothies. I enjoyed one after my morning run. The other, I put in the refrigerator, and the next morning it was still thick and creamy and was wonderful for a quick and easy breakfast.
These creamy, refreshing smoothies are so easy to make and are perfect for a healthy breakfast or delicious snack anytime.
